Fundraising and Transaction News

$132.7 Billion

That's the "amount of cross-border mergers and acquisitions activity" so far in 2016! This is up 31% over last year, which was the strongest year for this type of activity to date. No surprise here, but I it's worth mentioning, this activity is primarily driven by Chinese acquisitions, which now accounts for 47% of all cross-boarder activity this year. [Reuters]

$1.25 Billion

That's the amount that Index Ventures recently raised in new funds to support tech startups. It would appear that the current condition of the stock market and late-stage funding has not had any affect on growth stage venture capital funding. Good news for the tech world! [Reuters]

€180 Million

That is the amount that European VC Creandum closed in its new early-stage fund, and in only a few months (a record for Eurpoean VC)! The European tech scene is quickly becoming a hot spot for serious market leaders with unicorn potential, and the European and U.S. VCs are all over it. [TechCrunch]

£60 Million

That's the amount that TalkTalk lost due their data breach in October of 2015- which is said to have affected 157,000 subscribers. To make matters worse, as of the close of their Q3 (December 31, 2015), they had reportedly lost a total of 101,000 customers. This is just another painful example of why having strong corporate data security practices in place matters. It's no longer a question of "if" your company will be attacked, it's "when." So, make sure your company is taking the proactive approach, and secure your critical documents before it happens to you. [ARS Technica UK]

33%

That's the percentage of US based startups that raised a Series A in 2015 who went through an accelerator. This trend has steadily increased year-over year for the past eight years, and has many saying that it is due to the current state of early VCs acting with at bit more caution (only wanting to invest in top tier startups) in order to protect their investments. Perhaps the accelerators are on to something after all.  [Pitchbook]

Enhanced Invite Feature

This feature saves you time by automatically re-inviting users over 2 week period. It also makes it easier for invitees to accept your invitations, and improves security by turning off access after a 2 week period.

Download Documents Directly From Online Viewer

This feature is especially useful during due diligence for lawyers, bankers, and finance professionals. Users and administrators often wish to scan documents for information first, and then download them only after they've confirmed it's a document they are looking for or need to download. Along with the Preview and Next button in the online viewer, the Download option saves users time by letting them scan for documents of interest and then download the ones of particular importance without returning to the main data room.
