Fundraising and Transaction News

$160 Billion

That's the amount that drug giants Pfizer and Allergan PLC have agreed upon to execute their mega merger. This also means that the US is losing its biggest drug maker to Ireland. [CNN Money]

$100 Million

That's the amount that three-year old London-base startup Deliveroo raised in Series D funding, a mere four months following the close of their Series C round, which raised $70M. This brings their total funding to $200M. Deliveroo is just one of many European startups seeing significant funding lately, which leads us to believe that it's a great time to be a startup in Europe. [TechCrunch]

$1 Billion

That's the amount that e-commerce titan Alibaba Holding Ltd. is attempting to sell it's 7% stake in Chinese tech startup, Meituan-Dianping, for. What is the next step for Alibaba? Reports say that they have their eye on developing their own food delivery platform, Koubei. A joint venture with a financial affiliate. [YIBADA

$11.67 Billion

That's the amount closed globally so far this year in Series A funding, which has already blown the $10.51B raised in 2014 away. However, even though the total amount raised is already higher in 2015 than 2014 it seems to be impossible for the number of Series A deals to surpass the 1,613 deals that were done at this stage last year. So, less deals, more money, across the board. [PitchBook]

$527.6 Billion

That's the total valuation of the156 unicorns globally. The latest addition to the herd is a two-year-old Chinese video blogging app, MiaoPai, who recently announced an additional $200M in Series D funding, bringing the total amount raised by the unicorn club to $79.5B. [CrunchBase]
